Pre-Wedding Photo & Video Shoot in Paris:
Leon & Cheryl’s Real Story and Helpful Guide
When you think of romance, Paris often comes to mind first. Last year, I had the joy of photographing a lovely Malaysian couple, Leon and Cheryl, for their pre-wedding photo & video shoot in Paris. It was also special because it was my first overseas collaboration with a videography team, Motion in Style, making our trip even more exciting and memorable.
We began planning months before leaving Malaysia. Organizing an overseas shoot requires thoughtful preparation, including deciding the best season and handling logistics. Leon and Cheryl chose October, and it turned out to be perfect—mild autumn weather, beautiful golden sunlight, and stunning architecture that made every frame feel timeless. This pre-wedding photo & video shoot in Paris wasn’t just a shoot—it was an adventure crafted with precision and passion.
In order to cover so many locations in just one day, we spent a great deal of time planning and scouting the locations beforehand. Every detail was discussed between the photography and videography teams, along with the couple. This kind of pre-production planning made the actual shoot smooth and efficient. From deciding the best time for each spot to identifying nearby rest areas and coordinating outfit changes, we left no detail unchecked. An experienced photographer is crucial in leading an overseas pre-wedding photo & video shoot in Paris — not just to capture the right angles, but also to guide the flow of the day, manage timing, and solve unexpected challenges calmly.
Our photoshoot day started bright and early at the iconic Arc de Triomphe. The quiet morning allowed us to capture stunning, relaxed shots of the couple against this grand monument.
Next, we headed to the Eiffel Tower, capturing breathtaking images from the famous viewpoint at Trocadero. The sunrise behind the tower created a beautiful, romantic glow that made Leon and Cheryl’s smiles even brighter.
From there, we visited the Bir Hakeim Bridge, known for its impressive architecture. The bridge’s cinematic look perfectly complemented Leon and Cheryl’s elegant style, adding drama and sophistication to their photographs.
For a personal touch, we took a break at Léon Fish Brasserie, carefully chosen because it shares the groom’s name. This fun and thoughtful choice brought laughter and warmth to their shoot, allowing them to enjoy some casual, candid moments.
Next, we headed to L’Howea, a charming café where Leon and Cheryl could relax and share intimate moments, resulting in natural and heartwarming photographs.
Later, the majestic Alexandre III Bridge was our next stop, famous for its ornate lamps and beautiful river views, creating classic, timeless photos.
Our final destination was The Louvre, where we shot during sunset and into the night. The soft evening light and nighttime glow of the Louvre added romance and elegance to the final images, perfectly capturing the magic of Paris.
Here’s the final highlight video from Leon and Cheryl’s pre-wedding photo & video shoot in Paris. It beautifully captures the emotions, laughter, and charm of the day — from early morning at Arc de Triomphe to the glowing night shots at the Louvre. Watch it to experience the full story come to life on screen.
Working with the Motion in Style videography team was fantastic. Our collaboration was smooth, and we successfully combined photography and videography to beautifully document Leon and Cheryl’s pre-wedding photo & video shoot in Paris from multiple perspectives. It was a true team effort that wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s commitment and communication.
This shoot was also made possible with the amazing vendors who worked behind the scenes. The stunning bridal gowns were provided by The Gown Atelier and Gelly Wee Wedding Gown, while the elegant hair and makeup styling was beautifully done by Vaness. The photography was done by us at Momento Wedding, and the video coverage by Motion in Style — a combination that worked harmoniously from start to finish.
Reflecting on this journey, it’s clear that pre-wedding shoots are not just about pretty pictures. They are about creating meaningful, memorable experiences that couples will cherish forever. If you’re considering a pre-wedding photoshoot in Paris or anywhere overseas, detailed preparation and choosing the right team will make all the difference.
